How can I reach you if I have questions or comments?
I can be reached by e-mail at Judy@judybecker.com . I would be happy to receive questions, comments or any other thoughts you may have on my work.
Do you sell your work?
All my work is for sale. I sell my "Fragments" at $150 each. My larger work is available at various prices depending on the particular item involved. I would be happy to quote prices for particular pieces if they are available. Since all my pieces are unique, I may not have a particular piece you may be interested in when you inquire, but in that situation I will be happy to e-mail pictures of what is available.
How are the "Fragments" made?
Each "Fragment" is first designed and then cut and machine pieced from commercially available fabric. The completed design is then hand quilted to an appropriate fabric backing and thereafter mounted on wood stretcher bars. Found objects are sewn to fabric as part of the overall design.
What type of found objects are used.
I use items that I think will enhance the fabric image. This includes beach stones, small pieces of discarded and frequently rusty metal, empty egg cases from the sea, shells and assorted other items. Indeed, friends frequently contribute items they have found on their travels and it is not unusual for me to receive a package of rusty metal items in the mail.
Are the "Fragments" and Larger Work easy to display.
All my work is designed to be displayed on the wall. The "Fragments" are quite light and can be hung from push-pins or mounted in the same way as a painting done on canvas. The larger work has fabric sleeves on the back. A wooden slat or a even a sturdy current rod can be fed throught the sleeve and then attached to the wall.
